Chris Milk Hulburt is a self taught artist working and living with his family in Richmond, Virginia. His bright, evocative work draws on familiar geography, flora, and fauna to convey the unsung magic of small moments and unregistered details. He works primarily in paint on wood, but also makes large scale public commissions, textiles, and sculpture.  His work has been shown in galleries in New York, Providence,Virginia and North Carolina, but is largely done on commission for private collections. Musical and iconic, his paintings draw on the stylistic traditions of folk and naive art, imbued with tender humor and haunting poignancy.
